Lauren Coullard

toi, ma nuit

Like the undead, Lauren Coullard's paintings almost feel like they escaped time itself. They are populated, imagery - that are loans from another time, often with medieval dames and mythological beings, but all of them seemingly liberated drom their cosmologies duties. The color on the canvas are protagonists in her fairy tale, inhabitants in their own kingdom of paint. The image feel almost untouchable, loans of vision, just colors caught in their play that are temporary presenting something that appears like an imagery, which maybe will not remain. But then again, they are there, knights and bathing dames. Scenes that look like they are in a crystal ball, sensual in their own realm, not bothering about ours.
