It is a great pleasure to host an exhibition at the premises of Kultur am See e.V. in Bad Saarow near Berlin, focusing on female artists. When viewing art, it is often not immediately apparent whether the work was created by a male or female artist. Why should this matter? Of course, there are countless themes that women can express just as effectively. Why not? Often, it depends on the individual state of the female artists themselves, whether they wish to address themes that are particularly important to women and give them a voice by shaping their work accordingly. Here, we have four outstanding artists who employ different approaches, yet ultimately, one can discern a distinctly female perspective.
